It's sad, really.

How ignorant people can be.
So, I was on DevaintART and saw the cutest little picture of Lyra and BonBon getting married, and I started floating around in the comments. And OF COARSE had to run into some anti-human rights jackass who had to complain about gay marriage.

"Marriage should be strictly between a man and a woman."

Back around 40 years ago, they used to say that marriage should be strictly between two people of the same race, and that it was bad if a black person and a white person got married. Wanna know what we call those people now-a-days? Racists.

"Oh, but it's different."

How is it different? Let me guess, "Oh, I'm not stopping two people of different races who love each other very much from getting married, I'm stopping two gay people."

I don't know, I've just always had this deep hate for people who are like this. Like, my mom totally does not like gay people. She doesn't say it directly, but if you say something about gay people, she'll get this disapproving look on her face... I don't know how to explain it, but it's just obvious she doesn't like gay people.

This entire rant was pointless, I can't get my words out right, I'm so PO'd. DX

I hate it when people just don't understand other people.

I hate people like that. I would just refuse to talk to them, because I'd end up blowing up.

Me and my mom actually had a conversation about this recently, when we started discussing my story for NaNo.

Me: *is explaining the plot* So then he joins the crew, they float around and he falls in love with the captain and all that stuff...
Mom: Oh, so you have a female pirate captain?
Me: ...No.
Mom: *moment of silence, then chuckles* Oh, so they're gay?

Apparently she supports gay rights, even though she doesn't find it natural for two people of the same gender to fall in love. Which I find strange, but I accept it.

My mom's not voting for Obama because he's pro abortion and for gay marriage.
Well, my family's Christian.
And God's supposed to love and forgive everyone.
So why doesn't he love gay people that want to get married?
I would bring this up to my mom(who openly says she's against it), but we'd get to the point in discussion where I'd have to say I'm bi-sexual.
She'd say I'm just a kid and asked me where I got the idea.
And I'll have to explain everything and get banned from the computer and iPod.
So...yah.

I really don't get anti-gay protests. Just, humans have the right to do what they want to. Freedom should not be violated.

That's pretty rude. I'm sick when people say things like that. : P

I think everyone has the right to marry the person they are in love with. Two straight people can love each other just as much as two gay people, so what's the real difference besides appearance?
