Argument between my father and I

Okay...so..here's the argument that my dad and I had recently.

My dad was being all religious on us, saying that only people who believe in God are good people and that atheists are downright evil.

I objected to that, and tried to tell him that he shouldn't judge people by what they believe in.

He kept on interrupting me, and I slowly started to get angrier. I kept on trying to tell him that just because someone doesn't believe in God, doesn't mean that they're evil.

I told him that atheists are not heartless and that most of them are really good people.

He said, "No, Soul! Haha. You don't understand. They're only PRETENDING to be good but they're really evil."

I was SO close to breaking his neck and getting us in a car accident.

That argument lasted all the way back home and I just gave up. My dad is so judgmental.

There is pretty much no evil in most cases of the human race... just ignorance, prejudice, and stupidity.

Nah, my religion's kinda like Christian. I'm a Seventh Day Adventist.

...Sometimes, no, most of the time, I think that I'm the only one in my family who has a good heart. I respect whatever people choose to believe, and know that they're good people no matter what. My dad just judges them by looking at 'em. African American? My dad will think of them as a thug. Mexican? My dad will think that they're filthy people who don't know how to take care of themselves. White? My dad will think that they don't have any brains. Homeless and in need of some spare change? My dad will think of them as an evil money-stealer.

So basically, we can only see things like Brave.

I have no idea. He has friends, mostly Asian, but he's made some friends with Caucasian people. I don't know if he's pretending though.
